The Day You Give Them 15 Minutes

Undivided. Unhurried. Unforgettable to them.

💬Today's Phrase — save this somewhere you'll actually see it
"15 minutes of being truly here does more than hours of being physically present."

Write it on a sticky note. Set it as your phone wallpaper. Let it follow you through the day.

Today's Activity · Special Time

Today's practice looks almost too simple. That's exactly why most parents skip it. It's called Special Time and it is one of the most evidence-backed connection tools that exists. You're going to do it properly today — and feel the difference.

Set a 15-minute timer. Your child chooses the activity completely. You follow their lead entirely — no teaching, no correcting, no redirecting. Just full, unhurried presence for 15 minutes.

Day 4 — The Day You Give Them 15 Minutes

Take it one step at a time. There's no rush.

📋Step by step
1.
Phone goes face-down or in another room. Non-negotiable — they will notice if it's there.
2.
Say: "This is our Special Time. You get to choose what we do."
3.
Follow. Don't teach. Don't correct. Don't redirect. Just be there completely.
4.
Narrate what you see: "You're building it so tall!" — this tells them you're truly watching.
5.
Give a 2-minute warning before the timer ends so the transition isn't jarring.
6.
When it ends: "That was our Special Time. I loved being with you."
🪷Tonight's Reflection — sit with these at the end of the day

What did your child choose? What did that tell you about who they are right now?

How did it feel to follow their lead completely for 15 minutes?

Could this become a weekly ritual? What would need to shift to make space for it?

What comes next in the membership

Month 2 of the membership goes deep into Connection — Special Time guides by age, emotional attunement tools, and a full connection ritual calendar for the month ahead.
